Cars in German Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Police reported they were notified by a individual who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Police say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found many other marked cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say early analysis indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

Local authorities announced they were trying "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.

A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism rendered him speechless and had to be resolved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
